All Gibson Bass Hide Stampers are manufactured on-site in our manufacturing facility in Brisbane Australia. We use only the highest quality materials with many of the components being designed and manufactured on-site.

Our team
Richard Bass
Richard is a mechanical engineer and inventor who has designed, manufactured and deployed equipment for the leather, food harvesting and processing, pharmaceutical and medical industries, many of which have become industry standards.
A qualified mathematics and science teacher, Richard’s diverse career includes meteorology and electrical instructing in the Royal Australian Navy. He draws on the skills and knowledge gained through this diverse career to deliver innovative mechanical solutions to problems.
Each Gibson Bass Stamper machine is designed and manufactured to meet individual customer specifications, including modifications and inventing new components as needed.
Joe Gibson
Joe is a chemical engineer and a 4th generation tanner who has worked in the leather industry most of his life as a technician, manager and consultant. Joe’s experience in the leather industry includes managing a seven-year $2.6 million Australian Government Hide Improvement and value chain development project. He is internationally renowned for his expertise, consulting and advising in China, Canada, Indonesia, the USA, South Africa and New Zealand. Joe has delivered numerous presentations and presented papers on animal hide improvement, identification, traceability and sustainability in 10 countries.
Joe works with our clients to optimise how and where the Gibson Bass Stamper is integrated into company operations. This includes programming the PLC to integrate with and ensure compatibility with traceability systems.
